Bleeding hearts are always welcome in a shade garden and this one is especially desirable. With its deep rose flowers trimmed with white and its soft blue-gray foliage it adds a lot of color over a long bloom season with time out only in the hottest part of the summer. It’s mounding habit gives it a neat appearance even when out of bloom. Dead-head and water it during droughts to keep it looking good and blooming all summer. If it dries out it will go dormant but will probably return the following spring.
