Known as ‘Calypso’ out side the US, ‘Berries and Cream’ produces clusters of five to fifteen flowers with ruffled petals that are irregularly striped and splashed with white and crimson. Red dominates in cooler temperatures while white dominates in warm ones. The medium length flowering stems are strong and the flowers are followed by red hips about ¾ inch long. The stems have few prickles and carry large, dark green, glossy leaves. The height of the plant varies from six the fifteen feet depending on the climate with the tallest plants found in hot temperatures. Suitable for containers and pillars, and excellent for the vase. Considered very resistant to mildew, black spot, and rust.
