Named for the annual Tournament of Roses festival held on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California, this Grandiflora rose  bears flowers singly or in clusters of 5-7  flowers on long stems.   Ovoid, pointed red buds open to high centered, full flowers that have dark pink petals in the center, lighter petals on the edges, with darker petal backs.  The upright bushes are prickly, have large, semi-glossy medium green leaves and are highly resistant to blackspot,mildew, and rust.  An excellent rose for exhibition or cutting.
